Rink Roll is a free hockey game that runs in your browser. This page explains what information is involved when you play, and the choices you have.
What we store
Rink Roll has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details. The game saves a few settings in your own browser's local storage so they are there next time:
- whether sound is on or off,
- the display name you type for head-to-head games,
- your progress and result for today's Daily challenge,
- random IDs that let your device rejoin a head-to-head lobby and post one leaderboard entry per day.
This information stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website.
Head-to-head games and the leaderboard
When you play head-to-head, the lobby is stored on this site's server so both players can see it: the lobby settings, the display name you typed, your build progress, and a random ID that lets your device rejoin the lobby. When you post a Daily build to the leaderboard, the name you typed and your build are shown publicly, along with a random device ID that is kept private and used only to stop duplicate entries. No other personal information is collected.
Hosting
This site is hosted by Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, to run and secure the service. See Netlify's privacy policy for details.
Advertising and cookies
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads or advertising cookies are used.
Children
Rink Roll is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
